EENRochon-prisma is een soort polarisator.Het is gemaakt van twee prisma's van een dubbelbrekend materiaal zoals kristalkwarts en YVO4 die aan elkaar zijn gecementeerd.
Rochon-prisma's splitsen een willekeurig gepolariseerde ingangsbundel in twee orthogonaal gepolariseerde uitgangsbundels.De gewone straal blijft op dezelfde optische as als de ingangsstraal, terwijl de buitengewone straal over een hoek afwijkt, die afhangt van de golflengte van het licht en het materiaal van het prisma (zie de bundelafwijkingsgrafieken in de tabel rechts) .De uitgangsbundels hebben een hoge polarisatie-extinctieverhouding van >10.000:1 voor het kwartsprisma en >100.000:1 voor het YVO4-prisma.
Rochon Prims worden gebruikt voor toepassingen waarbij kleine bundelafstanden vereist zijn.
